Learn More

Paula's capacity to understand the depth and breadth of client situations is supported by her experience and education.  The aim of coaching is not giving advice.  However, coaching does require a strong capacity to listen and sense underlying components in the client's communications.  Paula's aim is always to learn from the client as a primary component of the coaching process.

Paula lives life authentically and pursued career and personal interests even when they were against the popular routes.  She went from a family business, to running someone else's business and then into her own business.

Living true to herself has always been natural to her. Paula pushed through her various goals with conviction, grit, and a combination of determination and light-heartedness.  Pivoting at each natural turn, addressing each challenge head on and smiling with each success and each challenge, Paula believes that anything is possible.

When Paula faced a well-being challenge, a PTSD diagnosis, she leaned into the guidance in the Report from the Task Force on Lawyer Well-Being, and came out on the other side with added resilience.   Inspired by this experience, she seeks to support people and other attorneys in everyday life, as well as when they are navigating well-being matters.

Achieving targeted professional and personal goals can absolutely be done.  While this work is being done, we can gravitate towards a peaceful inner sense of self and connect to moving forward on many fronts, while not leaving the body behind, towards a future of continued self-evolution.

In 2009, Paula was quoted in the Wall Street Journal in an article about her experience as a client of an executive coach.

Author Sarah Needleman interviewed Paula about her experience as a client of coach Dr. Wendy Alfus-Rothman for an article titled "Staying in the Game With Help on the Sidelines."  Communication style, business strategy, examining the sources of influence on others in her workplace, as well as her own capacity to influence others were some of the coaching topics. Some of Paula's quotes in the article are below.

Strategy

"An executive coach helps you identify things that help you be in control of your destiny."

Communication

"You have to be very direct at the executive level, very concrete."

Influence

"She helps me with my power of persuasion."
